Whether you have a seasoned senior ready to take on their final year, a confident sophomore, or a nervous seventh grader stepping into new territory, each stage comes with its own mix of excitement and uncertainty. Please know that SMHS faculty and staff are here to support your child and your family every step of the way. A strong partnership between home and school is essential to every student’s success.

We are committed to open, timely communication and welcome your questions, feedback, and ideas along the way. Together, we can create the best possible experience for our students.

Sandwich Middle High School

School Year:

  • 180 days
  • 7-day drop 1 rotation with each period lasting about 51 minutes
  • Two 90-day semesters.
  • Classes are semester (.5 credits) or year (1 credit)
  • Grades are assigned every 45 days
  • School is dismissed at 2:00 PM on M, T, TH, and F.
  • Every Wednesday, school is dismissed at 1:00 PM
  • The SMHS Library is open after school from 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM every M, T, TH, and F.  The library is a great place to study and complete homework while waiting for a ride or an extra curricular activity.
  • Breakfast and lunch are free. Second lunches, snacks, and seltezers must be purchased.
