Forestdale Weekly Update/8/30/26-9/5/26

It gives us great pleasure to welcome back all of our students and families to Forestdale Elementary School for another exciting and successful school year. We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, connection, and countless opportunities for our students to thrive.

If you are new to Forestdale, a very special welcome to you! We are thrilled to have you join our school community and become part of the Forestdale family. We look forward to getting to know you and working together to make this a wonderful year for your child.

Please be sure you have set up and activated your Pick-Up Patrol account before the start of the school year. The Pick-Up Patrol registration link was emailed to all Grade 1 and Grade 2 families on Wednesday, August 26th, and was active for only 48 hours.

If you have not yet completed your registration or need assistance, please contact Jill Crowell at the Forestdale Main Office (508) 477-6600. We are happy to help ensure your account is ready.

Kindergarten Families: Please watch for your Pick-Up Patrol registration email on Thursday, September 3. As with Grades 1 and 2, the registration link will remain active for 48 hours only, so please be sure to complete the registration promptly.

Thank you for your attention to this important step. Having every family set up in Pick-Up Patrol helps us maintain a safe, efficient, and organized dismissal process for all students.

For information regarding Parent Drop Off/Pick Up and Forestdale Red/Yellow car placards will be given to students to bring home on the 1st day of school, Wednesday, September 2nd. Due to limited quantities, each household will receive one placard. Kindergarten parents will receive their car placards at Family Day, Thursday, September 3rd. Please see our Arrival and Dismissal procedures which are attached here: Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Please note that Parent Pick-Up QR codes will be emailed to all families on Monday, August 31st. Each family should save the QR code on their iPhone and have it readily accessible when arriving for Parent Pick-Up.

The QR code will be scanned by staff to provide access to the gymnasium and the Parent Pick-Up area. To help keep dismissal safe and efficient, please have your QR code open and ready to scan when you arrive.

 Bus Routes can be found here:  FD Bus Routes 2026-2027 If you feel a route change is needed, please email your request to transportation@sandwich.k12.ma.us. Please include your child’s name, grade level, your home address, email or phone number and the nature of your request. Lucini Bus will research the request and the school will contact you with the decision.

Kindergarten Family Day – Thursday, September 3, 2026

A one-hour meet-and-greet with your child’s teacher. Name tags and car placards will be distributed. Name tags should be worn throughout September.

Kindergarten Family Day Schedule by Last Name:

A–H: 9:15–10:15 AM

I–N: 10:30–11:30 AM

O–Z: 11:45 AM–12:45 PM

Wednesday, 9:00 am - 2:20 pm. Every Wednesday is a 1 hour early dismissal. Please mark your calendars and make necessary changes in your Pick-Up Patrol to accommodate Wednesdays’ early dismissals. This includes the 1st day of school, Wednesday, September 2nd.
