June 22nd thru June 25th, 2026

Have a Great Summer!

As we close another incredible school year at Forestdale School, we reflect with pride on the many accomplishments, experiences, and memories shared by our students, staff, and families. From classroom learning and academic growth to special events such as the Fun Run, Halloween Parade, Turkey Trot, Jingle Jog, Bunny Hop, Read Across America Week, Field Day, Game Day, Beach Day, field trips, and countless opportunities to build friendships and school spirit, our students have grown in so many ways.
Throughout the year, students demonstrated curiosity, perseverance, kindness, and a love of learning that make Forestdale such a special place. Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive families, PTA, and community partners for helping create a school environment where every child can thrive.

We wish all of our Forestdale families a safe, relaxing, and memorable summer filled with time to recharge, explore, and make lasting family memories. To our second-grade students, congratulations on reaching this important milestone, we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and wish you continued success as you begin your next chapter at Oak Ridge School. While we will miss your smiles, energy, and leadership, we know you are well-prepared for the exciting opportunities ahead. To our returning students and families, we look forward to welcoming you back in the fall for another year of learning, growth, and success as we continue our journey together as a Forestdale Family of Learners.

Last Day of School

Thursday, June 25th, is the last day of school, and it's a half day. Dismissal will begin at 12:20 pm. There is no afternoon extended day, so all students will be parent pick-up or bus dismissal.

Buses will leave our bus loop at approximately 12:45pm.

Field Day

On Thursday, June 18th, Forestdale students celebrated an exciting Field Day filled with fun, teamwork, and school spirit. Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of activities, including PE "Greatest Hits," cooperative field games that emphasized teamwork and sportsmanship, and the always popular Inflatable Carnival.

Field Day is a cherished schoolwide tradition that brings students and staff together to celebrate the end of the school year through active play, collaboration, and community building outside of the classroom.

Thank you to our PE teachers, staff, volunteers, and PTA for helping make this special day a success for all of our students.

Kindergarten Game Day

On Tuesday, June 16th, our kindergarten students enjoyed a fun-filled and engaging Game Day! Throughout the day, students traveled from classroom to classroom participating in a variety of games designed to promote teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and positive social interactions.
Game Day was true magic for kindergarten. Each classroom had an individual board game (uno, ants in the pants, hungry hippos..etc). Classrooms traveled as a class and spent 20 minutes in each room playing the games. The entire kindergarten wings were decked out with tons of decorations to bring the day to life. We basically went with the candy land theme and the students were amazed!
The hallways were transformed with colorful decorations, creating an exciting atmosphere as students rotated through each activity.
Whether taking turns, collaborating with classmates, or practicing good sportsmanship, students demonstrated important social-emotional skills while having a great time. Game Day was a wonderful opportunity for our youngest learners to build friendships, strengthen classroom connections, and celebrate a successful year of learning together. Grade 2 Walking Field Trip

On Monday, June 15th, our second-grade students enjoyed a special walking field trip to Salt & Honey Creamery to celebrate a successful school year. Students and teachers walked together down Bill Richards Road, safely crossed at the crosswalk at Bill Richards Road and Route 130, and continued along Route 130 to the creamery.
The beautiful weather, excitement of the walk, and enthusiastic honks and waves from passing work trucks made the journey even more memorable for our students. Once at Salt & Honey, students enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream treat while spending time with their classmates and teachers outside of the classroom.
A special thank you to Maria and Alexia from Salt & Honey Creamery for their generosity and hospitality in helping make this end-of-year tradition possible. Experiences like these create lasting memories for our students and are a wonderful reminder of the strong community partnerships that support Forestdale School.

Grade 1 Beach Day

On Wednesday, June 17th, our first-grade students enjoyed a special Learning Beach Day! Students brought beach towels to school and transformed their classrooms into a fun, beach-themed learning environment.
While the atmosphere felt like a day at the beach, students remained engaged in learning activities throughout the day. The beach setting provided a unique and memorable way to practice important skills, collaborate with classmates, and celebrate all of the hard work they have accomplished this year. Beach Day was a wonderful opportunity to combine creativity, community, and academics while creating lasting end-of-year memories for our first graders. 🏖️📚☀️. Crazy Eights Math Club

Crazy Eights Math Club is a before school club facilitated by Math Coach, Mrs. Hart and Math Interventionist Mrs. Eddy.

This year, students in grades 1&2 enthusiastically participated in the Crazy Eights Math Club, where they explored the fun and excitement of mathematics through hands-on games, puzzles, challenges, and collaborative activities. The club provided opportunities for students to strengthen their number sense, problem-solving skills, and mathematical thinking in a playful and engaging environment. Through teamwork, creativity, and perseverance, students discovered that math is more than just numbers, it is about curiosity, critical thinking, and having fun while learning. We are proud of our young mathematicians for their enthusiasm, positive attitudes, and willingness to take on new challenges throughout the year.
