This Week on the Ridge

We have reached our final Friday Memo of the school year, though we still have one exciting week left of school! This week was filled with celebrations and memorable experiences, including award ceremonies for students in grades 3–6 and the Grade 6 Egyptian Expo, where students showcased their learning and creativity.

We also welcomed our future Oak Ridge students during Grade 2 Step Up Day and enjoyed a variety of field trips and outdoor learning experiences, including the Grade 6 trip to Oak Crest Cove and the Play Ball field trip. Our Grade 5 Color Guard had the incredible opportunity to visit the Joint Base Cape Cod, and this week we sent our first group of sixth-grade students off on their Yellowstone adventure.

A thank you to Maggie and Aaliyah in Grade 6 for donating their recess time to help plant 13 perennials to beautify our school.

As we head into the weekend and prepare for our final week of school, we wish everyone a Happy Juneteenth and a wonderful weekend ahead.

Sandwich Public Library Children's Summer Reading Program
June 25th – August 18th

Plant a Seed, Read
2026 Summer Reading Program

The Plant a Seed, Read Summer Reading Program is for pre-readers (birth to Kindergarten) and readers entering K–6th grades. Our goal is to encourage children to enjoy reading throughout the summer by issuing this reading challenge:

“30 Minutes a Day, 5 Days a Week, for 8 Weeks!”

Registered readers receive a reading log and special stickers to track their daily progress. Bring your reading log to the Children’s Room once a week to receive a weekly prize. Earn tickets toward prize drawings at the end of the summer by bringing in your reading log every week and by attending Children’s or Family events.

Bring in your log between Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 16th to sign up the whole family for the Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 18th!
