Community Partnership

Students at Oak Ridge School have partnered with Sandwich Recreation and RideAway Adventures to launch a Bicycle Maintenance Club, creating an authentic, hands-on learning experience with a meaningful impact across our district.

As part of this initiative, Oak Ridge students have taken on the responsibility of building brand-new bicycles that will be used by Forestdale students in an upcoming spring physical education unit focused on balance and bike riding. This work not only builds technical skills, but also fosters pride, collaboration, and a strong sense of contribution to their school community.

On Monday, March 16th, students were hard at work assembling bikes at RideAway Adventures, in downtown Sandwich, demonstrating focus, teamwork, and problem-solving throughout the process.

This is a powerful example of our community coming together to support student learning and opportunity. A sincere thank you to Sandwich Recreation, RideAway Adventures (owner and former SHS graduate Mike Morrison and David Mulligan), and Sandwich School Committee Chairman and biking enthusiast Kevin Sareault, who generously shared their time and expertise to guide students through the bike assembly process

SMHS Students at Forestdale

On Thursday, March 19th, students from Sandwich Middle High School partnered with our kindergarten classes during physical education, providing support, encouragement, and positive role modeling for our youngest learners.

It was especially meaningful to welcome back former Forestdale students, whose leadership and connection to our school community made a powerful impact on our kindergarteners.

Kindergarten Tours

On Thursday, March 26th, Forestdale School will host the second and final scheduled tour for families and students of incoming kindergarteners for September 2026, the future Sandwich Middle High School Class of 2039. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to visit our school, meet staff, and begin building connections within the Forestdale community.

If your family was unable to attend Kindergarten Information Night on March 4th, we encourage you to contact our front office for important dates, next steps, and key information to support a smooth and successful start to your child’s kindergarten experience.

PTA Movie Night/Gr. 2

The Sandwich Elementary PTA is excited to host a Grade 2 Movie Night this Friday, March 27th! Students and families will enjoy a showing of Zootopia 2 together.

Snacks will be provided; however, please be sure your child brings a water bottle.

Please note: This is not a drop-off event. All students must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian for the duration of the evening.

Specialist Night At Forestdale

On Thursday, March 26th from 4:30–6:30 PM, our team of Specialist teachers will host an engaging Specialist Night, highlighting the depth and creativity of our Specialist programs and curriculum.
Specials are an essential part of each student’s day, providing opportunities to explore interests beyond the traditional classroom. These experiences allow many students to shine through their unique talents while also introducing new passions they may not have discovered otherwise.

We invite you to join your child for an interactive evening filled with hands-on activities and experiences in:
  • Physical Education (Mrs. DeNardo & Mrs. MacDonald)
  • Health (Mrs. Crosby)
  • Music (Ms. Tofteroo)
  • Art (Mrs. White)
  • Technology (Mr. Birmingham)
  • Library (Ms. Scott)
  • Science Lab (Mrs. Howell)
We hope you can join us for this opportunity to celebrate and experience the many ways our students learn, create, and grow each day.

Note: There will be a table in the lobby showcasing the DEIB Lending Library. A QR code with directions will be provided to request books generously provided by our PTA. There is a range of topics that support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
