THE DUNGEON EPISODE 2: INSIDE WINTER SPORTS

Dungeon Sports Show
The SMHS Sports Broadcasting class has released the second episode of The Dungeon, and it puts the spotlight on the stories shaping winter athletics.

In this episode, students take a closer look at the Blue Knights boys hockey program, which features four sets of brothers. The segment highlights how family connections are helping build chemistry, accountability, and success on the ice.

The show then shifts from the rink to the classroom, featuring student-athletes who are proving that success doesn’t stop when the final buzzer sounds. These students are balancing the demands of competitive sports while continuing to excel academically.

The episode concludes with Morgan’s Message, a powerful segment focused on mental health awareness and the importance of supporting one another across all SMHS teams.

Another strong production by our Sports Broadcasting students that captures the heart of Blue Knight athletics. Go Knights!

A DELICIOUS LESSON IN CULTURE

Students in AP Spanish recently transformed their classroom into a cultural tasting experience, inviting others to stop by and explore traditional foods from across the Spanish-speaking world.

As part of their learning, students researched the cultural significance behind each dish and shared both the history and flavors with visitors. From savory items to sweet treats, the event gave classmates and staff a chance to experience how food reflects tradition, geography, and daily life in different Spanish-speaking countries.

The tasting was a hands-on way for students to connect language learning with real-world culture — and it was a delicious success.

TOAD-ALLY AWESOME ANATOMY!

During a frog dissection lab, biology students identified the major body systems in the frog and examined how each one compares to the same systems in the human body. The lab gave students an opportunity to apply what they have been learning about anatomy and physiology, reinforcing how structure and function work together in living organisms.

A CREATIVE “G-LANCE” AT EUROPEAN HISTORY

Cunninghams history class
Students in Mr. Cunningham’s Advanced Placement European History class put a creative and modern twist on the past with a unique hallway display titled European History at a “G-Lance.”
Using AI tools, students reimagined major figures from the last 500 years of European history — all featuring our school support dog, Lance — transforming him into scientists, rulers, artists, and political leaders from different time periods.

From the Renaissance through the Cold War, the timeline stretches across the hallway, allowing students and staff to quite literally walk through European history. The project blended historical research, creativity, and technology, while also adding a fun and memorable element that has already caught the attention of many passing by.

Be sure to stop and take a “G-lance” at this impressive display!
