On Friday afternoon SMHS came together for a fun and spirited FALL PEP RALLY celebrating all of our amazing fall sport athletes and SMHS's UNIFIED TRACK & FIELD TEAM was presented with their 2025 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER. Congratulations!
The SMHS drummers set the tone for an exciting event, and SANDWICH SOUL followed with a powerful performance of the National Anthem before taking on our admin team in a lip sync battle!
Students and staff teamed up for competitions like “Mummy Wrap" and “Speed Power Walking,” and we capped it off with our favorite pups, Blue and Lance, going paw-to-paw in a treat eating contest.
Special thanks to the SMHS School Council and School Council Advisor, DEANA HERAS, for organizing such a fun pep rally filled with school spirit, laughter, and community!
GO KNIGHTS!

The celebration continued Saturday evening with our high school students dressing up and dancing the night away at the annual Homecoming Dance.
What a great weekend to be a Blue Knight!

Our talented 7th graders have been busy exploring creativity and technique in art class!
Balloon Dogs — Inspired by artist Jeff Koons, students experimented with oil pastels, learning how to use value to create the illusion of form.
Tim Burton Portraits — Channeling the unique style of Tim Burton, students studied portrait proportions and applied shading techniques to bring their characters to life.
Optical Tunnels — Students built on their understanding of value while being introduced to one-point perspective, creating tunnels that draw the viewer’s eye into the artwork.
We’re so proud of the creativity and skill on display—stop by the SMHS halls to see their amazing work in person!

Mrs. St. Pierre's HUMAN BODY SYSTEMS students got hands-on with a cow femur dissection this week as they explored the anatomy and function of the skeletal system. Students examined spongy and compact bone and even identified yellow bone marrow! Next up: analyzing real X-rays to see how bones heal themselves. |
Students in Mr. Welch’s UNITED STATES HISTORY class stepped back in time and reenacted the Massachusetts Provincial Congress — the governing body that led the colony on the eve of the American Revolution. Mr. Welch made history come alive by arriving in full 1700s revolutionary attire, complete with coat, breeches, and cocked hat.
During the reenactment, students took on the roles of historical figures, debated issues facing colonial Massachusetts, and experienced firsthand how ordinary citizens shaped the birth of a new nation. The immersive activity blended history, performance, and civic understanding — giving students a memorable glimpse into the spirit of revolution that defined America’s earliest leaders.

Prices go up to $34 after October 31st. Books tend to sell out, so to ensure your student gets a yearbook, buy one now!
If your student is interested in helping to create the yearbook, they can join the Middle School Yearbook Club! We meet every Monday from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM in Room D265.
